Associate Clinical Social Worker
So happy you're here!
I fully believe each individual is an expert on their own experience; therefore, I approach treatment collaboratively with my clients. My therapeutic approach is to treat each client individually, including considering cultural context, historical context, and the systemic impact these aspects have had on their lives. As a Latine woman, I can relate to the individual struggles often associated with the Hispanic culture, especially regarding the stigmatization of mental health.
What to expect at your session
You can expect to feel safe, heard, and never judged. I’m a compassionate, empathetic listener who understands that trust doesn’t come easy, especially when you’ve been hurt before. You’ll be respected for your experiences and honored for the life you live. I know you’re doing your best, and I’ll show up doing my best to help you reach your goals, whether that means changing behaviors, reconnecting with family, or simply feeling different inside. We’ll start with exploration and discovery, then create a structure that fits your needs. You may receive homework to reflect on or practice between sessions so the work we do can carry into your daily life. I aim to start on time but always offer a short grace period because life happens. I’m truly happy to take this journey with you.
My Strengths
My personal experience of post-partum depression drive my passion working in Maternal Mental Health. I specialize in peripartum depression and anxiety, aiming to empower women through the negative feelings that often come along with motherhood--isolation, burnout, and resentment. As a woman with ADHD, I also understand the additional struggles neurodiversity can bring into motherhood. My additional experience includes relationship issues, grief and loss, and trauma.
My Approach
I believe healing begins somatically and that tuning into our bodies allows for a deeper connection and understanding of emotions and behaviors. I value creating an environment free from judgement for my clients where they can feel seen, validated, and safe; therefore, I work to ensure my space is gender, culture, and neurodiverse-affirming, as well as sex and body positive. Tailoring my therapeutic approach and interventions to each client and what they respond to best is extremely important in my practice. I aim to foster self-compassion and empowerment within my clients through identifying strengths and promoting understanding of current behaviors and thought processes as a result of past experiences.Â
